• she knows how to use them
She never begs, she knows how to choose them.
She’s holdin’ leg wonderin’ how to feel them.
Would you get behind them if you could only find them?

    • My money would be on either Magical {Whichever} Gabe or Shadow Guy.

Now, if (as i first read your query for some reason) if the question were “Who just boinked Magical Girl Bluebelle”?, i figure it’s 3-to-8 minimum on M{W}G…

  1. S09, this is so nice. The composition, the colors (it would be bland in black & white), I love the facial expressions, and the boys’ fingers dangling into the panel below. The sound effects. And of course the ball hits Neil on the head, so fitting. And I’m pretty sure Neil doesn’t even like to be around kids, probably thinks they’re obnoxious. Thank you for such wonderful entertainment!

  2. Neil, out of breath:

“Do you know… how hard it is… to save lives… in sandal heels?!”

  3. “swiper”? Hover text went right over my head here.

Also, this beach excursion can’t be helping Neil’s “I hate everything, and the feeling appears to be mutual” attitude… Gets smashed in the face by a volleyball; after the extreme awkwardness of unexpectedly meeting someone attractive, he has to rush off due to an inconvenient Oni just as it was starting to actually somehow go well; then he has to simultaneously deal with: magical-girl swimwear that (unlike his apparent wardrobe preferences) leaves him bare-limbed, needing to run on sand in sandals, AND having to get entirely too close to a pair of brats… then to crown it all off, he gets beaned in the head by a beach ball, which can be viewed as more insult than injury if only because it is too light to actually do any damage.

    GREAT running gag though! 🙂

    • Swiper is the fox weasel thing from Dora the Explorer. When he shows up, Dora tells the kiddies to say that phrase so he’ll go away.

    • In case of Neil in magic girl form, ANVIL to head will be more insult than injury. Also, the sandals, being part of magic girl form, may not be as bad for running as regular sandals.

  4. Who else thinks that Neil has a “You’ve got to be kidding me” look in the last panel?

  5. What a happy coincidence. Magical Girl Neil is now next to Shattered Starlight in my Tues-Friday web-comics folder.
