Time to Skedaddle
hey guys. So my day job is coming into its “off season”. This is going to mean fewer ours for me, and less money in my pocket. As such, I thought this might be an opportune moment to plug the Magical Girl Neil Patreon page! For a menial sum, you can have access to all sorts of neat things like a sketch blog, high res drop box, and even icon commissions character cameos in the comic! If you’ve got some time, and a little cash to spare, give it a look see! I’d really appreciate it.
I always told myself I’d start advertising Magical Girl Neil
if when I made it to chapter two. As such, I have made the very first embeddable banner for the site! I’m hoping to make a couple of these in different shapes and sizes.
Unfortunately, the format is a little to small to really show the coloring style I generally work with in the comic… maybe that’s a sign that I need to simplify things a little, lol.
(Copied from deviantart because I’m still on my phone. )
Hello everyone. I am currently sitting in my new apartment, writing this off of my phone. I apologize for the lack of updates and activity as of late, but I do not have an Internet connection at the moment.
A couple things to talk about: The Magical Girl Neil Patreon has reached its first milestone. This means that, pending payment at the beginning of next month, I will begin livestreaming via Picarto at least once a week, and hopefully more. I will be doing what I can during November to get myself set up for comfortable streaming, and am like, seriously looking forward to it.
That brings me to my second topic: money. I have really had to spend a lot of it over the course of this move, and while I have a source of income now, anything extra I can make is very important. Commissions are open, and shall remain open, for as long as I can manage, because unfortunately, spending a lot of money to move into an apartment doesn’t necessarily mean you are finished. I have to buy some fairly necessary furniture as well… like a desk to put my computer on. Or a bed. A bed would be nice.
Anyways, before this starts to sound too much like I’m feeling sorry for myself, I do have one more thing to mention. Magical Girl Neil will be returning on the 16th of this month. As soon as my computer is set up (hopefully today) I will be getting straight back to work on updates. Since I’m just getting back from a hiatus, I will not be taking my customary break from activity during the month of December, so I hope you’re all as excited to get this ball rolling as I am!
Okay, long post, sorry. I think that’s everything, so I’m gonna get going. My fingers are cramping…
Hello everyone. I really hate to have to do this (again) but thanks to the hecticity (<- that’s not a word) of moving to another state. I’m going to have to put Magical Girl Neil on hiatus for a month or two. The buffer is all set so that the entirety of the first chapter will be posted, but after that, I don’t know when I’ll be able to update again. I don’t even know when I’ll have internet or access to my computer for a while, so things are really up in the air. I refuse to go more than a month or two without updating though, so I’m gonna say late october to mid november maybe? I dunno bros. Real life sucks. I should probably look into having other artists do guest comics… but I don’t really think I know any that I would be comfortable asking to do so without paying them, and I can’t really pay them. So.
In other news, due to the coaxing of several very nice fans, I have decided to reinstate my patreon campaign. I’m hoping to fix it up and add some reasonable rewards and goal tiers or… whatever they call them. The last time I tried to set up a patreon campaign I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, and now… I still don’t know what I’m doing, but the general consensus among webcomic artists seems to be giving there patrons some kind of high resolution gallery? and sketches of works in progress and stuff. I can do all those things, and though I prefer to do them for free… well… You know, food. I need it.
I also hope to start livestreaming on weekends? I need to either buy a new computer or upgrade my mac, because all the programs I could use to livestream are waaay past my operating system. I could probably figure it out easy enough, but I just haven’t had the time or determination. I guess we’ll see if there’s enough interest in the patreon campaign first. Make it… some kind of tier or something.
Anyways, that’s what’s going on in my life right now you guys. I’ll be working on the commissions I’ve gotten, as well as rebuilding the buffer on the comic, throughout October, and hope to be back up and running by the end of that month! Thanks so much for all the support you’ve been giving me, and I hope you all stick around to see what’s coming next!
